Known as the largest public works project in Nevada history, Project Neon will widen 3.7 miles of Interstate 15 in the busiest stretch of highway in Nevada that sees approximately 300,000 vehicles daily. This project anticipates that traffic will double by 2035 in this area. NDOT expects that this project will improve safety, reduce congestion, reduce travel delays, create jobs as well as improve air quality and improve freeway operations. Expected to be completed in Summer 2019, this project is budgeted to cost approximately $900 million. The technical tour will include a behind the scenes view of the project in progress and give attendees an opportunity to ask the questions only engineers would think to ask!
Shuttle loading will begin quickly after lunch for a prompt 2:00 pm departure.
